The investigation into the death of 18-year-old Nolan Wells has entered another tense chapter after a newly circulated report identified additional potential witnesses, highlighted critical gaps in the timeline, and renewed scrutiny over what happened during the final hours Nolan was reportedly seen on Horn Island.
The document, compiled by the United Cajun Navy from pH๏τographs, videos and information submitted by people who were reportedly in the area, is not an official investigative report.
Its creators stressed that they are not law-enforcement investigators and described the document instead as an organized collection of material they believed could potentially á´€ssist authorities.
But what the report appears to reveal has reignited the questions surrounding the case.
According to discussion of the report, numerous people who were on or around Horn Island that day have either been contacted by authorities or voluntarily come forward to explain where they were, who they were with and what they may have witnessed.
And investigators may now have far more witnesses to work with than the public previously realized.
THE CRITICAL HOURS
One of the biggest questions remains painfully simple:
When was Nolan Wells last definitively seen — and by whom?
Warren Hudson, identified in the source material as someone who traveled to Horn Island with Nolan, previously said the last time he personally saw Nolan was around 3 p.m.
He described Nolan as being with a girl identified as Katie and claimed Nolan appeared relaxed at that moment.
Hudson later claimed that as the group prepared to leave because their boat was experiencing problems, Nolan was repeatedly told to get aboard.
According to Hudson’s account, Nolan declined and said he planned to remain on the island and ride back with someone else.

A separate video discussed in the report allegedly shows the boat carrying seven people around the period when ᴀssistance was requested — with Nolan reportedly not visible aboard.

The source also notes that the enormous amount of public attention surrounding the case may help explain why some potential witnesses have not spoken publicly.
The expert said intense social-media scrutiny and reported threats could make people reluctant to discuss what they know outside official channels.
That distinction matters: a witness remaining silent publicly does not necessarily mean that person has refused to cooperate with investigators.
In fact, Fitz Gibbons said he had seen no indication that witnesses were being uncooperative and cautioned against jumping to conclusions.

Nolan’s cellphone.
According to the discussion, Nolan’s phone reportedly remained on the boat when he allegedly stayed behind on Horn Island.
Fitz Gibbons called that circumstance notable, questioning why someone remaining on an island would leave behind a primary means of communication.
He said a forensic extraction of the phone could potentially show how the device was accessed and whether files or communications were manipulated after Nolan and the phone were separated.
Importantly, allegations that information was deleted from the phone have not been established as fact.
However, the expert explained that forensic tools may be able to reveal user activity—including whether a pᴀsscode or facial recognition was used and whether deletion actions occurred—even when the underlying messages themselves cannot be fully recovered.
If investigators determine nobody improperly accessed the phone, one major theory could be eliminated.
If forensic evidence points the other direction, investigators could face an entirely new set of questions.
